Washstock 2011

The 3rd Wymeswold 'Washstock' Music Festival

We've had Glastonbury and Glastonbudget, so this Sunday 10th July it's Wymeswold's turn to get into the music festival spirit the Wymeswold 'Washstock' Music Festival on the village's Washdyke field and Community Orchard.

One of the organisers, Nick Shaw, said: "This will be the third year of Washstock and we hope that, like, the first two, it will be a huge success. Washstock 2011 will be on similar lines to the previous years with free admission to all. The public are invited to bring their chairs, blankets, picnics and drinks to enjoy a lazy afternoon of local entertainment".

The music starts at 1.30pm and there's a full line-up of local bands, soloists, childrens' groups, the Wymeswold school choir, the Wolds Choir and even a Christian rapper.

The show culminates with a set from Wymeswold's own 'Slippery Fish' at around 7pm, which will probably be their final public appearance.

Although admission is free, a collection will take to covers costs and any surplus, like last year, will be donated to the Wymeswold Washdyke Project, aiming to provide activity equipment on the field.

The running order will be posted here on www.wymeswold.com before the event, and should we have to cancel Washstock due to the weather then this will be posted on the website too on Sunday morning.
