Wymeswold playgroup provides pre–school childcare for children aged 2 to school age. The playgroup is a non profit making charity and aims to provide affordable care to families in Wymeswold and the surrounding villages. As it is fully Ofsted registered, playgroup offers free sessions to children aged over three years.
Playgroup has long serving and dedicated staff who offer an exceptional level of holistic care to the children and their families. Playgroup follows the foundation stage early learning goals for pre-school children to help then to develop the key skill they will need on starting school.
Established over thirty years ago Playgroup, has maintained close links with Wymeswold school. Thursday sessions are for the rising fours (children nearing school age) during these sessions, activities and visits are carried out to further prepare the children for the transition from informal to formal education.
On the whole Playgroup offers a safe, stimulating, happy and caring environment where each individual child can learn through play and socialising; developing their physical, cognitive, language and emotional skills.
The Playgroup is run by a voluntary committee made up of parents of children currently attending the group.
Parents and carers who would like to find out more about the playgroup should contact Jane Polehampton on 01509 881071.
