Second win for Wymeswold
Skipper Rob Pitman and newcomer Dom Warne both hit 74 to help Wymeswold to an emphatic 120-run win at West Bridgfordians 2nds in Division D of the South Notts Cricket League.
Pitman’s side batted first, with scores of 45 from Sam Whowell and 28 from Harry Shaw helping them to reach an impressive total of 248 for 6 from 45 overs.
After the break Jack Shelton returned figures of 3 for 18 as the home side slumped to 128 all out, recording a second victory for Wymeswold.
Meanwhile in Division L of the league Andy Shelton hit 56 to help Wymeswold 2nds seal a six-wicket home victory over Collingham 3rds.
The visitors batted first and reached 162 for 4 for 36 overs, with Martin Betts taking 2 for 42.
Shelton’s knock included 4 sixes and 6 fours to keep ahead of the rate. Then Ethan Mugglestone (28no) and an unbeaten 30 from veteran Pete Shaw saw the Wold home in the 26th over, for the loss of just four wickets.
