The Windmill Inn is a good old fashioned village pub with a contemporary feel. Like our sister pub The Curzon Arms in Woodhouse Eaves, you can be assured that all the boxes are ticked: wood burning stoves, traditional bar area, wooden floors, large terrace and grass beer garden, lounge bar and restaurant, real ales, seasonal British food and most importantly, a very warm welcome.

Our menu is all about British pub grub with a few modern twists, but that doesn’t tell you enough……………

This is a million miles away from being a chain pub…. from light bar meals to a three course dinner in the restaurant, from bar nibbles at the weekend to a family Sunday lunch……. expect fresh, locally sourced, seasonal, British home-cooking. Menus are updated on a monthly basis and we serve daily specials.

A good mix of familiar and new discovery drinks is what our pub is all about. We are particularly proud of our wine list. Hand picked and tasted (it’s a tough job) with the help of Hallgarten Druitt Vintners, namely Phil the wine guy. The quality is high but the prices reasonable.

Three real ales rotate on a regular basis and the draught lager selection has something for everyone from the ever popular Fosters to the connisseurs choice, Tiger from Singapore – a rare sight in village pubs.

Owners Sandra & Danny Jimminson were trained at the Savoy Hotel in London and after gaining further experience working in Switzerland, France and other high profile London restaurants, decided to settle close to where Danny grew up on the border of Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire.

Giles Coren, writing in The Times, was impressed when he ate at the Pincers, scoring it 8.5 out of 10 and commenting that his 28-day-matured beef was “stunningly good”.

Great Food magazine was also happy when its reviewer ate at the Hammer & Pincers in May 2011. “The twice-baked Colston Bassett Stilton Soufflé was light and savoury, with the apple compote cleverly foiling its richness,” wrote Rachel Quine. “The new steak menu is brave and inspired – if someone you love deserves the best steak and chips in the region, the Hammer and Pincers has it nailed.”

We pride ourselves in sourcing some of the finest local ingredients, everything is made in house. Serving the Wolds villages since 1997, Wymeswold Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy owned and run by Sarman Odedra. The pharmacy may be small but that doesn’t mean you get any less from it – in fact you get more. All pharmacies provide the same essential NHS services and most provide additional NHS services; many provide repeat prescription management too.

We don’t have much space so we can’t keep an extensive range; however we can get almost anything within 48 hours and many products on the same day. If we haven’t got what you want please ask & we’ll do our best to get it.

Repeat prescriptions

Electronic prescriptions mean that we can offer our services to people who use any surgery, wherever it is located. Patients whose GP is in Leicestershire have to order their prescriptions directly from the surgery. They are then sent to us electronically and are available a couple of days after the request has been made.

For patients who use East Leake surgery we can offer a more comprehensive prescription management service.

How it works

 For patients who live in Wymeswold, Rempstone, Hoton or Burton on the Wolds and find it difficult to get to the pharmacy we will deliver the prescription to your door

How to get started

• Call the pharmacy to talk about when you want to start and how you want to order and obtain your prescriptions
• If you want us to collect your repeat prescriptions you will be asked to sign a consent form; we will organise this
• We will get repeat slips from your doctor
• When you need more medicines just call.
