Tuesday March 15 2022 7:45pm at Wymeswold Memorial Hall
The next WHO talk is Tuesday 15th March when Mathew Morris will talk about recent archaeological digs in the grounds of Oakham Castle.
In 2018 and 2019, Mathew was director of a team of volunteers and students who re-opened trenches started by Time Team in 2012. They discovered previously unknown structures and greatly enhanced our understanding of the site.
If you recognise Mathew’s name but can’t remember why it’s because he was also director of the dig which found Richard III’s bones.
This talk will take place in the WHO’s usual venue: the Jubilee Room of Wymeswold Memorial Hall, Clay Street, Wymeswold, LE12 6TY and start promptly at 7.45 p.m.. Non-members most welcome but will be asked to contribute £3.00. There is a lift to the Jubilee Room if visitors have difficulty with stairs.
