The next WHO talk is Tuesday 18th April when Sam Dobson will recount Sir Malcolm Sargent’s early years.
Sir Malcolm Sargent was brought up in Stamford and was the founder of Leicester Symphony Orchestra during a formative time in his career, when he was also an organist at St Mary’s Church, Melton Mowbray. Sam Dobson has had a close association with the Leicester Symphony Orchestra for over 30 years.
The talk will take place in the WHO’s usual venue: the Jubilee Room of Wymeswold Memorial Hall, Clay Street, Wymeswold, LE12 6TY and start promptly at 7.45 p.m.. Non-members most welcome but will be asked to contribute £3.00. There is a lift to the Jubilee Room if visitors have difficulty with stairs.
