Core Strategy
The Charnwood Borough Council core strategy was due to be adopted at a meeting on 9th November. The Core Strategy is the Borough Council’s vision of where new housing, employment and infrastructure should go until 2028. An independent planning inspector recently completed his examination of the Core Strategy, concluding that it was sound and could be adopted provided some amendments were made. The Core Strategy will be considered when deciding upon all future planning applications.
The Washdyke Committee
The Washdyke Committee started in 2007 with the aim to develop The Washdyke field into a community orchard and play area. The team have worked tirelessly over the past 8 years raising money to plant the community orchard, install the play equipment, outside gym equipment, BMX track and Sun Dial as well as renewing the boundary hedges. As the project has now come to an end the responsibility of The Washdyke has been handed to the Parish Council with volunteer parties still meeting for seasonal work. The Parish Council would like to express Thanks to the Committee for all of their hard work and effort in creating a wonderful community facility for the village.
New Vice Chair
Cllr Sarah Sturmey was elected as the new Vice Chair to the Parish Council at our November meeting. We wish her well in her new post.
The next meeting of Wymeswold Parish Council will be held on Monday 7th December 2015 in the Jubilee Room, Wymeswold Memorial Hall, Clay Street, Wymeswold, starting at 7:15pm. All parishioners are welcome to attend.
