Crime Prevention Advice from the Police

Neighbouring villages have had an increase in vehicle crime. Always remove valuables from your vehicle remove sat navs including the support cradle and cables. Wipe away any suction pad marks don’t leave tools in vans overnight make sure that doors are locked, windows are closed and keys are removed when you leave the car, even if it’s only for a moment on icy mornings, never leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running park your vehicle in a well-lit spot that is visible to others, or covered by CCTV if you have a garage, use it. Always lock your vehicle and garage consider fitting a metal cage to your catalytic convertor or have it etched register any vehicle equipment such as CD players, in-car DVD payers, and sat navs, for free with immobilise.com

 Burton Lane Housing Development

Comments have now been submitted to CBC for the planning application for 25 dwellings on Burton Lane. The decision by the planning department is awaited. The latest information can be found on the borough council planning portal at http://www.charnwood.gov.uk.

Post Office

We are aware of the difficulties of the closure of the post office and have taken parishioner’s comments on board. The Memorial Hall committee and the Post Office are working with playgroup towards a solution that will work for everybody.

October Christian Link Mantle Pieces Article

The Parish Council would like to make parishioners aware that the article on the Mantle Pieces Project in the last issue of the Christian Link was submitted with good intension by the editor, but was inaccurate. The Parish Council will not be installing any railings without consulting the neighbours. We apologise for any misunderstanding that article may have caused.

The next meeting of Wymeswold Parish Council will be held on Monday 7th November 2016 in the Sports Pavilion, Burton Lane, Wymeswold, starting at 7:15pm. All parishioners are welcome to attend.
