Wymeswold falter after break
Having been rained off for two weeks, Wymeswold were itching to get back into action but missed out at East Bridgford in Division D of the South Notts Cricket League.
The home side batted first and reached 216 for 6 from 45 overs with Luke Scoble taking 3 for 68 and his brother Harry Scoble claiming 2 for 49.
Wymeswold’s batsmen couldn’t challenge that score in reply, with only Dom Warne offering hope with 35 as the Wolds side were dismissed for just 123.
Meanwhile in Division L of the league Leo Coggan starred with the bat as Wymeswold 2nds beat Caythope 4ths by 51 runs. Coggan hit 75, including 8 fours and 3 sixes at the Wold reached 176 for 6 from 40 overs.
In reply the visitors ended on 127 for 8 from 40 overs with 3 for 23 for Dennis Wright, but also a first wicket for 14-year-old Callum Purcell on his senior debut.
