Wymeswold Playgroup provides pre-school childcare for children aged 2 to school age. Wymeswold Playgroup is a non-profit making charity and aims to provide affordable care to families in Wymeswold and the surrounding villages. The playgroup is fully registered with Ofsted and can therefore offer free sessions to children once they come into their government funding. This comes into effect the term after a child’s third birthday or from the age of two if the child meets the required criteria. There are no administration or join up fees and we also accept employer childcare vouchers.
Wymeswold Playgroup has a long serving and dedicated staff who offer an exceptional level of holistic care to the children and their families. Wymeswold Playgroup follows the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage for pre-school children to help them develop the key skills that they will need to start school.
Wymeswold Playgroup was established over thirty years ago and has always maintained close links with Wymeswold School. We have a fantastic relationship with the school and enjoy regular visits from the reception class teachers and children. In the Summer term, Playgroup will take those children moving onto Wymeswold School for a morning visit to the reception class. We aim to facilitate the transition from Playgroup onto school making sure that all children are fully prepared and ready for the move.
Wymeswold Playgroup offers a safe, stimulating, happy and caring environment where each individual child can learn through play and socialising; developing their physical, cognitive, language and emotional skills. We are fortunate to have access to both an indoor and outdoor play area allowing free flow play throughout the session.
Parents and carers who would like to find out more about the Playgroup should contact Nichola Hather (Playgroup Leader) on 07599 059061.
