TEMPORARY BAN ON BONFIRES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

In order to protect the safety of members of the public during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the decision to temporarily ban bonfires at allotments.

People with respiratory problems are extremely vulnerable to the effect of smoke inhalation and requiring treatment for this puts them at risk of exposure to Covid-19.

Residents spending more time at home in lockdown may also suffer nuisance from bonfire smoke preventing them spending time in their gardens which is often the only place where they can get exercise, relax or enjoy some fresh air.

We appreciate this will cause inconvenience for plot holders needing to dispose of green waste, but please bear with us and respect the others during this difficult time.
